The word Solstice comes from the Latin 'solstitium', meaning 'sun stands still', referring to the brief pause in the sun's journey before it begins to shift again. In this pause, we are invited to pause too. To breathe, to reflect and to honour both the light and the shadows that have shaped our paths. In Spiritual and energetic terms, the Summer Solstice is a celebration of the life force within and around us. It is the peak of the solar year, symbolising abundance, clarity, empowerment, growth and illumination. Just as nature is in full bloom, we too are asked: "
“What within me is ready to be fully seen”?
“Where am I ready to shine my light more brightly”?
“What is reaching its full expression in my life”?
In a world that often rushes from one thing to the next, the Summer Solstice offers a gentle, powerful invitation to slow down and align with the Earth’s rhythms.
Honouring this time might look like:
Spending time in nature, soaking up sunlight with gratitude
Lighting a candle or fire to symbolise your inner light
Journaling or reflecting on your journey so far this year
Holding ceremony or meditation to release what no longer serves and to set new intentions
Celebrating with others - dancing, singing, sharing meals, laughing and embodying joy.
Most importantly, it’s a time to celebrate yourself, all the seeds that you have planted, the growth you have cultivated, and the light you have carried through challenges. It is a moment to remember that you, too, are a radiant expression of the Divine, and your presence matters deeply.
Enjoy my guided meditation and awaken your inner light.
Solstice Blessings
Sharon
